Guidelines for creating a product

To create a high-quality product that will meet the standards and expectations of both the community and eLearning Libraries, consider the following guidelines:

Include all images and sources

It is against copyright restrictions to use images or graphics outside of the public domain unless you own the licenses of those images or graphics. We recommend using images from sites such as Pexels that allow redistribution of images in templates. Ensure you include the URL link to the original image. If you’re creating a course template, we recommend including this in the notes section of the slide you use it on.

Naming conventions

Label all files, layers, objects and assets logically and consistently to ensure that your project files are easy to understand and customize. If you’re creating an interactive course, this will help users to understand and customise your interactions and slides. Likewise, ordering your timeline in a logical way will also help to ensure this. The more order and structure you can create in your template, the higher its value and ease of use for buyers.

Include clear and concise instructions

Include a set of detailed and clear instructions for editing and customising your template or file. For example, if you have created an interactive course that includes a menu slide that powered by variables and triggers, explain how it is set up and how a user can customise it to suit their project in the instruction sheet.

Provide as many options as possible

When creating a template or set of assets, provide as many options as possible for users. This might mean creating multiple versions of an interaction or layout to accommodate varying degrees of information, or it might mean creating an icon in various formats to be editable in multiple different software (AI, EPS, EPS, SVG etc.). The more options you can provide, the more buyers you can reach.

Package all your files as a .zip

When you create a product, you’ll need to upload your entire template as a .zip file. This needs to include all your assets, instructions and imagery. The entire product needs to be in the .zip file. Do not exclude any file.

Please note that your products will go through a review and quality control process before being published to the site. Therefore, if these instructions are not appropriately followed, the product may be sent back to you for updating or reworking to ensure it meets quality standards.
